This blog is specifically aimed at all those lucky brides-to-be who visited Swinton Park Wedding Fair on Sunday 10 April. Thank you for coming over, I trust you were inspired by the surroundings at Swinton, not to mention the superb food and staff. All these things combine to make Swinton an excellent venue for your wedding and/or your wedding reception.
We have photographed a wide range of weddings at the venue, including civil ceremonies in the panelled room, the library, in Samuel’s Restauraunt, and church ceremonies at St Marys in Masham. We have photographed large marquees weddings with multiple dance bands, singers, and singing waiters, to the smallest, most intimate weddings in the Private Dining Room or the library. Whatever the style or size of your wedding, Swinton provides the perfect backdrop for you and your wedding party, even in the middle of winter.
So – on the CD you may have collected at the wedding fair, I have provided links to a couple of slideshows. One is a Swinton Park mix , so you get to see a broader selection of what we have done at Swinton Park this last year. The other covers a variety of weddings across Yorkshire, so that if you are getting married somewhere else, you get to see that we don’t just work at Swinton (although we do love it there, and no, that’s not just because of the Black Sheep beer 😉 ) Both shows come in a high res and low res versions, that way those with big fancy new computers get to see the high res option, the low res option is a backup to ensure that everyone who wants to watch should get a chance.
You should also have received a price list, and on the back of that list is a note of our credentials, because you want to know that not only are we up to the job, but that we are genuinely competing with the best in Yorkshire and the UK, right? If not, it doesn’t matter, but to some this stuff matters, and we like to reassure you that we are ‘up there’.
Take a look at Clare and Oliver’s wedding blog for an idea of how Swinton looks in winter snow – we photographed Clare and Oliver early in December 2010, when the whole country was just about covered in one huge blanket of snow. Clare’s was dressed in the Wensleydale Suite at Swinton Park, and she walked to the civil ceremony in the library with her mum.
For summer weddings, how about Louise and Alex’s wedding at Swinton Park? Louise again got ready with her bridesmaids in the gorgeous Wensleydale Suite, before travelling into Masham for her church service at St Marys. The day was glorious, and as well as having photographs outside the cookery school before dinner, Louise and Alex opted for a trip up to the top lake at Swinton for a few more photos in the evening, when the light was golden warm.
You could go ‘the whole hog’ and try a double venue wedding, with a Fountains Abbey/Swinton Park combination wedding, just like Debs and Martin
Debs got ready in the Wensleydale suite (note the common theme here) at Swinton before driving to Fountain’s Hall for her wedding ceremony. Martin went ahead by vintage double decker bus, together with their guests. They both returned with their guests by double decker, before enjoying a classic Samuel’s wedding breakfast. Fountains Abbey and Swinton combined offer an unbelieveable combination of venues for some cracking good wedding photography, if that’s the way your cookie crumbles. Others prefer the quiet, private offerings of Cofin Lake, to enjoy a few calmer moments away from their guests, and some much prefer to just mingle all afternoon and chill to some unobtrusive, photojournalistic style images. That, of course, is your call, we’d ask you all about that well before the day itself.
Other than that, I can’t think of anything else just now, but if would like to ask any questions, or book an appointment to come over and see me at the studio, then call me on 01904 479063 or drop me a note using our contact form
I look forward to your contacting me soon.
By the way, we will shortly be updating our website completely to incorporate the latest work we have been involved with. If you have any suggestions, having had a look around, I’d be open to hear them.
Many thanks, and speak soon,
