Wedding Photography at Christ Church, Harrogate, and Newby Hall
I’ve driven past Christ Church on The Stray in Harrogate hundreds of times, often on the way to other weddings. It looks really pretty set back amongst the tress and surrounded with greenery. At last then, I got the chance to photograph a wedding there a couple of weeks ago, and wasn’t disappointed. The church is gorgeous inside, full of character, and has an all round balcony which enabled me to photograph discreetly and from some unusual angles.
Carl and Carla were married at Christ Church, then went on afterwards to Newby Hall for a fabulous afternoon reception with champagne and canapés, overlooking the famous gardens which are, despite all the rain we’ve been having, in full and splendid bloom. Talking of which, we needed to keep a sharp eye on the weather during the wedding ceremony to be certain as best we could that it would hold for us once we got back to Newby. Luck and the weatherman were on our side, we were able to photograph the family groups outside, before the wedding reception breakfast in the marquee.
Carla looked stunning in a classic Ian stuart wedding dress with a long veil and wedding shoes by Perfect.
During the speeches Carl thanked Lucy and the team at Newby Hall for their fantastic day, the wonderful dinner service, and the amazing food.
