We recently invited Bethan and Adam to the studio with their new baby Jacob under the Emma’s Diary scheme.
We often have a few family members join in, usually mum and dad, or a few siblings, or even a family pet. This all adds to the fun and helps us to get much more out of the photo sessions for our customers.
This time Jacob brought along mum and dad, uncle, grandma and grandad, great grandma and great grandad, and even Stanley the labrador!
Now that makes for a fabulous Emma’s Diary photo session. As a result we took a varied selection of photographs. This gave mum Bethan and dad Adam a wide choice when they came to their viewing session a few days later. Grandma as able to join the viewing via Facetime from Wales and choose her own favourites at the same time that mum Bethan was choosing hers.
We photograph approx 10 babies per month at the studio under the Emma’s Diary scheme, and for maybe 70% of those we photograph just the baby, because that’s what mum asks for. For the rest, we generally will include mum, dad, or both. But occasionally we have clients who really embrace the whole experience. That helps them make the most of the offer, and I just love that.
My favourite shot of all is the four generation photo with baby Jacob, mum, grandma and great grandma. Not only because it’s a gorgeous picture in itself, but because that photo is a very precious combination of people.
