Castle Howard engagement photography
I recently spent a lovely afternoon taking a walk around the grounds of Castle Howard with Charlotte and Alastair, who will shortly hold their wedding reception at the venue. Charlotte and Alastair were in the courtyard cafe meeting their chef for a final food tasting, and I drove over to meet them to do an engagement photoshoot.
We first walked up through the walled gardens and explored around, before going further afield towards the bottom of the main gardens for a distance view of Castle Howard in the shots. We then strolled around the lake and on up to the Temple of the Four Winds. As we got there, the sun came out for us, and we captured some very strong, blue skied, images of Charlotte and Alastair at the Temple.
Afterwards we headed back to the cafe for something to eat, lots of coffee, and a detailed chat about their wedding day plans.
I was able to show them a taste of what I’d managed to photograph, but nothing compares to seeing the finished job.
I’ve added a few of my favourites above, and quite a few more in the slideshow below. Please take a look and see what you think. I’m absolutely delighted with the photographs, I can’t wait for the actual wedding day itself.
I have to say, I really enjoyed the afternoon, it just flew by. The wedding will be the same, there is so much to explore and photograph at Castle Howard. Hold that thought, then add Charlotte and Alastair into the scene in their full wedding kit. I’m looking forward to photographing something really special. And particularly when the gardens begin to come into colour shortly, they will add a whole new dimension to the photographs. For now, please take a look at the show below, and I look forward to seeing you at the wedding.
