Wedding Photography at Carlton Towers – Maria and Richard
Maria and Richard were married at Carlton Towers, near Goole, in a civil ceremony followed by a religious blessing.
Wow – what an amazing day. I’m not sure where to start with this one, so much happening in one wedding day, roasting hot sunshine, loads of fun, Del Boy, a helicopter arrival, jazz band, dove release, and an evening photobooth.
I was going to write this without mentioning the dress, just as a tease. Impossible – how could I? It was easily the biggest wedding dress I’ve photographed, and Maria looked absolutely stunning.
I’ve done a bit of research, so here goes:-
Maria’s dress was a complete one off supplied by Confetti and Lace in Leeds , hand pleated and hand stitched by Anita Dutton. There were 36 metres of diamond white organza in the skirt, 60 metres of tulle, and 50 metres of netting.
The skirt and the 15 ft train were studded with Swarovski aurora AB chrystals, and Maria wore a matching ‘My Lady’ corset from Confetti and Lace. The whole dress was fantastic. Later in the afternoon, the train was removed, to reveal an amazing full skirt. I’ve included a few pictures here and on our Facebook page. The dress looked so good, it’s hard to know which photos to show as the teasers.
Maria got ready in the fabulous rooms at Carlton Towers, and shortly before the ceremony the groom arrived on the front lawn by helicopter. At the same time, Maria’s dad Andy, and brother, drove into the venue in a 3 wheeler Trotter van, to arrive together for the ceremony.
Andy walked Maria down the aisle for the first of 2 ceremonies. The room was decorated in soft pinks, matching the overall colour scheme of the day.
A brief civil wedding ceremony was followed by a fuller religious blessing, and a second grand entrance for Maria and her dad.
The relaxed religious ceremony was led by the Rev Jonas of Drax Church.
This included a full choir and music by the Mad Dog Jones jazz band . Mad Dog then went on to play for the afternoon reception on the terrace outside, as everyone enjoyed drinks and canapes.
After dinner guests enjoyed an evening disco, and a photo booth by us.
(The evening photobooth gallery is also at the same link, at the bottom of the page).
You can also visit our Facebook Page for a link to the photo booth gallery, and more teaser shots from the wedding.
I hope you enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed taking them 😉
For those who took part in the photo booth, thanks for joining in. We’ve got some great pics – follow the links to our Facebook page if you fancy a good laugh!
