Rudding Park Wedding – Fiona and Carl

Rudding Park Wedding, Harrogate, North Yorkshire and All Hallows Church, Bardsey, Leeds – Fiona and Carl

Fiona and Carl enjoyed a fabulous Rudding Park wedding reception, following their church service at All Hallows Church, Bardsey, Leeds.

We were watching the weather forecast all week, with heavy rain causing flooding all over the country. As Saturday drew closer, so the forecast slowly improved. On the wedding day itself we actually saw blues skies and sunshine
in the morning.

Fiona began her day at home, getting ready with her 4 bridesmaids. She looked gorgeous in an elegantly designed wedding dress, carrying a bridal bouquet of a variety of soft pink flowers by florist Kate Mell .

The bridesmaids

Her 4 bridesmaids looked amazing in their matching-but-not-matching dresses. Let me explain. They each wore a ‘Two Birds’ range dress from Two Birds Bridesmaid, Notting Hill – one dress, four lengths, nineteen colours. So, whilst this is technically one dress design, it can be worn in loads of different ways. Brides get a choice of nineteen different colours to match their colour scheme. Except – and here is the clever bit. Fiona didn’t do that. Instead she chose four complimentary colours for the dresses, then had four complimentary yet individually different bouquets prepared by Kate Mell for the girls.

The net result – four bridesmaids, individually yet exquisitely dressed, each different yet mutually complimentary, and all in sublime good taste.

All Hallows Church, Bardsey

It’s a while since I last photographed at All Hallows in Bardsey. How times change. The last time I was there, I was not even allowed inside church to photograph, such were the strict rules. Things could not be more different now. We received a warm welcome from the church wardens, and were allowed inside the lower levels of the belfry to photograph from an elevated viewpoint. All Hallows is such a pretty church, and with the Rev Chris permitting us sensible photo freedom, we were able to capture the most important elements of the church service itself.

Rev Charles now welcomes guests to photograph the signing of the register, which is done publicly. He invites the guests to photograph this part of the service, representing perhaps one of the most open church wedding photography policies I know. It is a pleasure to work in such a lovely atmosphere. We have some wonderful photographs to show for it.

Rudding Park

After the wedding service, the groomsmen arranged a long confetti tunnel for the bride and groom. I loved it – masses of confetti to see the couple off to Rudding Park – chauffeured by Ken of Superior Motor Cars

Rudding Park as always was the perfect wedding venue, guests enjoyed drinks and the very best of canapés. Fiona and Carl’s main wedding reception was in the Radcliffe Room, with late night dancing after dinner.

All in all a lovely lovely day, I am so pleased that the weather held off for the newlyweds and their guests.

Once again the Rudding Park wedding team were fantastic, ensuring that the day went seamlessly and without a hitch.

Rudding Park Wedding Photos

We have a stunning set of wedding photos to show when Fiona and Carl return from honeymoon via this link – friends and guests who send me an email, I will send you a password for the gallery once the couple have seen their photos themselves.

In the meantime, here is a sneak preview of just a few from the day.
