Emma and Liam were married at St Peter’s Church, Sowerby, near Halifax.
Emma’s wedding day began at her parents’ house in Sheffield, before she travelled to church in Halifax, and then on to Rudding Park, near Harrogate. It was always going to be an epic journey, but Emma and Liam had their heart set on two things – first, the chance to be married by Liam’s cousin in her parish at Halifax, and secondly, the chance to hold their reception at Rudding Park, having searched Yorkshire for their ideal venue.
Emma wore a gorgeous Sharon Bowen design from Choola Bridal in Sheffield, together with her Benjamin Adams shoes.
Rudding looked fabulous as always, and Gavin and Craig, the venue hosts, were thanked by Emma’s dad during the speeches for the superb service from the Rudding Park team.
We loved Emma’s cake, which was made up of individually iced cake squares, layered on a transparent tier system. After the cake had been ‘cut’, the individual squares were neatly boxed with ‘thank you’ cards attached, and relayered, for guests to take away. It’s lovely to see new ideas at weddings, and this was very different for a wedding cake idea.
Playing for the guests in the afternoon were the Event Music company jazz/swing double bass/saxaphone duo, with the full Event Music Company swing band filling the dance floor in the evening.
