Environmental portraits – Jannine and Scott

Environmental portrait session – Jannine and Scott

We are really looking forward to photographing Jannine and Scott later in the year at Rudding Park.  Last night they came over to the studio for a pre wedding chat, an environmental portrait session and to update us with their plans.

At the same time we went out around the farm to do their pre wedding photo shoot.  I’ve added a few pics below, to give an idea of the fantastic variety of photographs we can take just outside the studio.

Jannine and Scott were naturals in front of the camera – we got an amazing variety of photographs.

When we first came to the studio a few years ago, the large barn doors were full of old peeling paint.  Farmer James then painted them with a strong blue paint, and that gave me a fabulous back drop for outdoor portraits.

The paints’s now starting to peel away again , returning us to more of the rustic backdrops we used to get.  Working in such a changing environment means that our work constantly evolves.  No two clients get exactly them same selection of images, all sessions are bespoke and different.

Last night, after working around the gardens, woods, barns, and backdrops around the local cafe, we hopped in the car and drove a few hundred yards to have some fun in a local, freshly cropped, field.

This opens up a whole new range of possibilities for portrait work.  Jannine and Scott are an easy couple to work with – they had loads of fun together, were open to ideas, and basically just went for it.

I think the results speak for themselves, I’ve shown some photos below and added more on my Facebook page.

Having seen how good these photos look, I can’t wait to photograph their wedding later in the year.  If you’ll be at the wedding – see you there!portrait, environmental, YorkPin it
