Wedding photography Hassop Hall, Bakewell, Derbyshire

I love Derbyshire, I used to do loads of walking many years ago in the Dark and White Peak areas, often catching the bus to Fox House for a 2p bus fair from Sheffield!! Those were the days, and that ages me more than I care to remember. Five minutes walk from the Fox House bus stop is Padley Gorge, a local picnic site and beauty spot, and this is the area I suggested to Ana and Jon when they said they would like ‘something different’ including in their Hassop Hall wedding photography.

To be fair, we were spoiled for choice, the bride and groom were prepared to travel by car from the venue, and were happy to spend a short while in the evening having a variety of shots taken. So, we had a Derbyshire beauty spot, a good looking and enthusiastic couple, a gorgeous flamingo pink wedding dress – what more can a photographer ask for?

Often couples are looking for something different as part of their wedding and their wedding photographs, but they aren’t always sure what that something might be. Give me a little time to think about it, and I can usually come up with a few suggestions. Finding an angle no-one has seen before, or a view, or a secret corner somewhere, that’s all part of the challenge of what we do. It makes it all the more fun, and our brides take away albums which are truly individual.
