Wedding photography Bolton Abbey Priory and Ripley Castle, North Yorkshire

Zoe and John were married at Bolton Abbey Priory and held their wedding reception in Ripley Castle East Wing, North Yorkshire. They enjoyed a gloriously sunny day, Bolton Abbey and its grounds were at their best, as was Ripley Castle, and the scene was set for some amazing wedding photography.

Zoe’s prep shots were on the top floor suite of the Hotel Du Vin, Harrogate, a thoroughly modern and stylish setting. She was accompanied by her bridesmaids and family, with make up by Bonnie Belton of Harrogate. The bridesmaids dresses were a gentle lavendar in colour, to compliment the very tasteful pale lavendar/pale yellow colour scheme. This offset Zoe’s Ian Stuart extravaganza of a dress.

The ceremony was at the church of St Mary and St Cuthbert at Bolton Abbey Priory, in Wharfedale. Not only is the church itself magnificent, but the Abbey grounds offer fantastic opportunities for photography, especially wedding photography. We spent around 30 mins at the Abbey with Zoe, John and their guests before moving on to Ripley Castle East Wing for their afternoon reception, and more shots by the lake. Taking a walk to the lake gave Zoe and John some quiet time together, and a chance to take in the day, before returning to the castle for their wedding breakfast.

The Yorkshire Dixiland Band played to guests during the afternoon reception, and evening guests were entertained by live band Jetset.

Zoe and John will be viewing their full set of images on the 21 August, if you would like to see their images after the couple have viewed them, please register your email address here and we will notify you of the password.
